I still remember vividly when i was in primary 5, my teacher sent my group to participate in a science fair where our works would be displayed and the best group would win attrative prizes!
The process was tidious, first we had to do investigation. This investigation then eventuated in a comprehensive report. Then we had to do many experiments to see which was the most viable method. We even had to think of new innovative ideas in order to subjugate our rivals. At first, we were incredulous about our chances of winning. However, on the day of the judging, the judges decided that my group was the ultimate winning group. We were overjoyed. At least our hard work had paid off!

Can one improve his/her english skills?
It is definitely possible for one to improve his/her english skills. Nothing is impossible. To me, a language is a skill that has to be acquired over time. No amount of tuition will help you to improve if you yourself don't work hard.
Basically, some effective ways of improving your english learning skills is through knowing your capacity to learn, your interest, and knowledge of what you wish to learn. You must first be motivated and interested to learn and not give up easily.
Some ways of improving one's english skills is by doing your homework and handing them in on time, reading different genres of english books regularly, make it a point to read the newspaper everyday and take note of new words and their meanings, so you learn new words everyday as you go along. You can also watch the news through the television.
In conclusion, there are a thousand and one ways to improve one's english skills, but it is all up to the individual whether he/she is willing to learn and to apply the skills effectively.

My new class :) (Week 12 Journal)
3 Loyalty!
This class has been great so far.
At first, i was quite timorous, wondering what sort of people i would meet. But time sure does wonders. This class isn't that bad after all. Initially, some appeared very ostentatious to me. However, i've come to realise that they may appear showy, but have unique personalities, and i've expunged that steroetype. I've made new friends, friendly ones, happy ones, helpful ones, and other of that ilk. Well, making new friends sure are an integral part being in a new class, right?

School. (Week 11 Journal)
It's only the end of the 2nd week of term 1, but sec 3 life has been really hectic so far. Everyday, teachers inundate us with homework and more homework. Never is there a day without homework! With more workload on our hands, we cannot afford to be lax when it come to serious work. Teachers do like students with meticulous work, don't they? We should obviate all our television programmes, computer games, shopping trips etc and fully concentrate on studies now. Studying should be done willingly, and not coerced.
